Dmail Makes Your Gmail Messages Self-Destruct

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet review: the new netbook?

Date Released: 29th June 2015. Netbooks didn’t have a lot going for them, but they had a clear purpose. Their cramped keyboards, dull displays, and feeble processors couldn’t detract from their eminent usefulness as fast note takers and convenient web browsers on the move. Sony’s Xperia tablets — and tablets in general — have the opposite problem: they’re blessed with all the advantages of high design and precise engineering, but none of the purpose of the humble netbook.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2015) review

There’s a new Kindle Paperwhite out, and it’s just like the old one except for a high-resolution screen. Nobody was really expecting it to happen: after all, before this update, Amazon had a pretty simple, almost Apple-esque breakdown of its Kindle e-readers. There's the low-end Kindle at $79, with a boxy body and no backlight (seriously, don't buy this one). There's the high-end Kindle Voyage with a high-contrast "micro-etched" glass screen and an adaptive light sensor at $199 (quite pricey).

Facebook's new logo is even more generic than the old one

For all of Facebook's impressive records and achievements, the social network's logo and wordmark have always remained resolutely basic. The company has now decided to freshen up its look, but there's no major redesign happening: the simple old "facebook" is now typed out in an even less distinctive font than before, with the most obvious change being the switch from a double-story "a" to a single-story one. The refreshed look features more white space and thinner lettering, likely in an effort to make the wordmark more legible at lower resolutions on mobile devices.

Not everyone will get Windows 10 on its July 29th release date

Windows 10 comes out on July 29th, but you might have to wait until later to get it. Microsoft said today that it would be rolling out Windows 10 in waves, "slowly scaling up" the rollout as it sees how things are going. The intention seems to be playing it safe and making sure that Windows 10 is getting a good response and running smoothly across the millions of different systems out there. Microsoft may even issue updates to Windows 10 between its July 29th release date and the time that some early adopters are actually able to download it.
